Beautiful: Day 5 (A Daily Writing Project)

Today, “beautiful” is my daughter standing in my closet with a laundry basket over her head -- part of our latest game of hide and seek. It’s her twirl of delight when I told her I made pasta with olives for dinner, the way her hair was sticky when she got home from school, and the way she said, "MOM! Say, 'IT IS FORBIDDEN’” – a line from the story she loves. “Beautiful” is how she is a force of nature, an explosion of silliness, a graceful beauty. "Beautiful" is: She is my daughter.
